The Mins Game – Week 3

The photos are getting even worse, the descriptions are getting even shorter, the game is getting even harder, but we’re still going!

Day 15 – 1 pair of slippers, 1 cardigan, 1 storage tub, 2 folders, 2 candles, 2 candlestick holders, 1 necklace, 1 lot of craft supplies, 1 can hair product, 2 magnets, 1 organiser pad.

Day 16 – 2 aprons, 1 pair over gloves, 1 handbag, 4 tea towels, 1 ID badge, 2 scarves, 1 ice cooler, 1 dog coat, 1 ripped dress, 1 dead cactus, 1 lot of birthday bunting.

Day 17 – 1 old wash bag, 1 PJ top, 1 hairbrush, 14 odd socks.

Day 18 – 5 spoons, 5 takeaway menus, 4 notepads, 1 box of cookie cutters, 1 cork board, 1 magazine holder, 1 empty plant pot (theme – I fail to keep plants alive).

Day 19 – 3 cooking spoons, 2 mini tupperware containers, 1 milk jug, 1 oven tray, 12 pairs of socks.

Day 20 – 12 condiment/sauces (out of date/split), 1 tub of milkshake powder, 1 tub hot chocolate powder, 1 oxo cube (sorrynotsorry), 1 sieve, 1 pan lid, 2 random unknown kitchen objects, 1 wooden tray, 4 bags of now stale crisps. (No idea how I ended up over count – maybe this helps forgive the 14 odd socks cop out…).

Day 21 – 9 tubs of spice (all out of date), 1 more bag of stale crisps, 3 very old chocolate bars, 2 dried out paint brushes, 6 unfinished crochet project samples.

And there we go, week three complete! Man, it’s getting tough now. As you can tell this week saw me enter the kitchen and J really got on board, finally parting with his out of date sauces and spices, I never thought the day would come.

As always, wherever possible this stuff is donated or recycled. Anyone else playing along?

  1. Great work. Keeping up with recording what I was decluttering turned out to be the worst bit for me. I thought it would be good for accountability, but the bigger the piles got the more it became just a hassle.

    1. Agree about the photos! I don’t think I’ll record future decluttering efforts, and definitely didn’t for my initial purge back in October, but now I’ve started doing it for the Mins Game I want to see it through! Definitely is an eye opener though to see just how much is leaving your home. And to look back on some early photos and wonder if I really ever owned these things!
